I have Been Elected to represent you, as your Student Union Online Student Officer for 2026/27, here is my manifesto:
I am an online postgraduate student, and I know what it feels like to learn at a distance while trying to stay connected to a community that can feel out of reach. This role matters to me because no student should feel invisible simply because they are not physically on campus.
Online students bring commitment, resilience, and diverse life experience. Many of us balance study alongside work, family responsibilities, health needs, or living in different parts of the UK or the world. I want to champion that, and to support fellow online students as they navigate their studies.
As Online Student Officer, I will be your voice in the room. I will represent online students in Student Council, university committees, and decision-making processes, ensuring we are considered whenever policies or procedures are being changed or created. Our needs and experiences should shape those conversations from the start, not be added as an afterthought.
I want to campaign on the issues that matter to online students and create meaningful opportunities for us to connect with our communities in ways that work for us. No one should have to miss out simply because they study at a distance.
I will work closely with university teams and the Student Union to make things better for online students and to get our voices heard.
Distance should never mean disconnection and together, we can make sure it doesn't.
