On Friday, 19th June, the Students' Union was delighted to welcome local MP Andrew Ranger for a special visit with members of the SU Council.

The visit provided councillors with a valuable opportunity to meet their local Member of Parliament, learn more about his role, and discuss issues that matter most to students. Throughout the session, Council members asked a range of questions covering student life, representation, and a range of local, national and even international questions.

The discussion gave students the chance to share their views and experiences directly, while also gaining insight into how elected representatives work with communities and respond to the concerns of their constituents.

Forming part of the Students' Union's ongoing commitment to promoting student voice, representation, and democratic engagement, opportunities such as these help students understand how they can influence decision-making and make a positive impact within their university and wider community.

Following the question and answer session, councillors came together for a group photograph with Andrew and continued informal conversations about issues affecting students in Wrexham and beyond.

We would like to thank Andrew Ranger MP for taking the time to visit the Students' Union and engage with our Student Council. We look forward to continuing to create opportunities for students to connect with decision makers and ensure that student voices are heard.
